CUMIN SEEDS

The seeds have been used in the Mediterranean cooking since ancient times. They are oblong in shape with brown color and can be purchased both as whole seeds or powdered.

Their complex flavor has made it a component of almost all seasonings. Cumin is a great complement for the flavor of lentils and beans. It is also used in sautéed vegetables, rice,  while together with black pepper and honey they are applied to special chicken recipes.

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) is a source for iron and helps us with digestion, too.
